March 11-12, 2017, Endurance Sports Expo, Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, Oaks, PA. "Postponed" (cancelled for 2017). Claims to be the largest cycling, running and triathlon expo in the Country.

Sat. March 25, 2017, Hell of Hunterdon, Blawenburg, NJ. This is a hilly 82-mi Belgian-themed ride in Hunterdon, Mercer and Somerset Counties, NJ. The challenging course features 19 sections of dirt, gravel and hardscrabble roads (covering approximately 15% of the course).

Sat. April 1, 2017, Love, Hope, Courage Ride, West Chester, PA. Ride 45 or 70 mi through Chester County. Benefits the Never Forget Foundation, founded to help grieving children cope with loss.

Sat. April 1, 2017, Monkey Knife Fight, Emmaus, PA. This is a hilly 64-mi ride with 15-mi of dirt roads and 6,500 feet of climbing. No SAG. Benefits the Pennsylvania Perimeter Ride Against Cancer.

Sat. April 8, 2017, TSR Spring Classic, Easton, MD. Ride 25, 50 or 62 mi on flat terrain in Talbot County. Benefits Talbot Special Riders, an organization which provides equine therapy to youth and adults with developmental disorders.

Sat. April 15, 2017, Fools Classic, Point Pleasant, PA. This is a hilly 79-mi ride with 27 sectors of dirt/gravel roads and 6,000 ft of climbing. Kermesse Sport

Sat. April 22, 2017, Taxing Metric Century, Warwick County Park, Knauertown, PA. Ride 22, 32 or 63 mi. Lunch stop with hot homemade soups and baked goodies. New for 2017: Benefits Bethesda Project - "A Caring Family for Philadelphia's Homeless".

Sun. April 23, 2017, Cumberland Valley Rail-Trail Race, Run, Ride & Ramble, Shippensburg, PA. 19-mi bike ride; 9-mi walk; 1-mi, 5k or 15k run. All events take place on the Cumberland Valley Rail-Trail.

Sun. April 23, 2017, Lu Lacka Wyco Hundo, Jenkins Township, PA (near Pittston). Registration for 2017 is closed. The ride is sold out. This is a hilly 50-, 75- or 100-mi mixed-terrain ride (paved and gravel roads) in the beautiful Wyoming Valley of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Sun. April 23, 2017, Tour de Staten Island, Staten Island, NY. Ride 35 or 50 mi. Limited to 2,000 riders. Benefits Transportation Alternatives.

April 28-30, 2017, Face of America. Choice of two routes: ride from Valley Forge to Gettysburg,120-mi one-way, or ride the classic route from the Pentagon in Arlington, VA, to Gettysburg, PA, 110-mi one-way. Ride with servicemen who have been severely injured in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

April 28-30, 2017, Lewes Delaware Weekend, Lewes, DE. Ride 20-to-65 mi per day on flat terrain. Registration includes motel accommodations. Potomac Pedalers Touring Club (PPTC)

Sat. April 29, 2017, Fleche Buffoon, New Hope, PA. This is a hilly 75-mi ride entirely on paved roads through Bucks County, PA, and Hunterdon County, NJ, with 14 steep climbs totaling 6,100 ft of elevation gain. Kermesse Sport

Sun. April 30, 2017, Draw for Sight Bicycle Poker Run, Betterton, MD. Ride 36 or 60 mi on the flat-to-gently-rolling terrain of Upper Kent County, Maryland. Benefits Chestertown Lions Club.

Sun. April 30, 2017, Tour de Franklin, Somerset, NJ. Ride 1-5, 10, 25, 40 or 62 mi on-road, or 5-10 mi on- and off-road D&R Canal Towpath route. See event website for mass-start times. Breakfast, lunch and break stops are provided, and all participants who register before April 7 are guaranteed a T-shirt. Fundraising is optional. Benefits the Franklin Township Foodbank.

Wed. May 17, 2017, Ride of Silence, simultaneous, free events in DE, MD, NJ and PA, including Philadelphia and Doylestown. Please see the event's website for a complete list of start locations - too many to list here! 7:00pm ride start, but come early for the pre-ride dedication ceremony. Join cyclists worldwide in a free, silent, slow-paced ride (12-mph maximum) in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.

Sat. May 20, 2017, SCU Quad County Metric Century, Green Lane, PA. Start from scenic Green Lane Park in rural western Montgomery County, and ride 26, 47, 55, 68, 82 or 106 mi on rolling-to-hilly terrain in low-traffic sections of Montgomery, Bucks, Berks, and Lehigh Counties. Sun. May 28, 2017, Velo Valley Vistas, Valley Preferred Cycling Center (Trexlertown Velodrome), Breinigsville, PA. Ride 40, 62, or 100 mi, rolling-hilly in the beautiful Hawk Valley. For the ultimate challenge, conquer the climb up Hawk Mountain. Weekend events include "Try the Track" at the velodrome (separate registration) on May 27th and local unsupported GPS rides on the 26th, 27th and 29th. Sun. June 11, 2017, ACS Bike-a-thon. Ride to Atlantic City, NJ, one-way, from Philadelphia, Cherry Hill or Hammonton; 31-100 mi. Start from Philly at 6:30am and ride across the Ben Franklin Bridge. Benefits the American Cancer Society.

Sun. June 11, 2017, French Creek Iron Tour, Phoenixville, PA. Ride 11, 20, 32, 50, 62, 75 or 100 mi, rolling-hilly (474-5,665 ft climbing). No day-of-event registration. Benefits the French and Pickering Creeks Conservation Trust.

Sat. June 17, 2017, FCC Century Breast Cancer Ride, Scotland, PA. Ride 13, 26, 42, 62 or 100 mi through Franklin County on very-scenic country roads with rolling hills and limited traffic. The 100-mi route has a 5-mi climb to the top of "Big Flat" with an amazing descent. Franklin County Cyclists

Fri.-Wed. June 23–28, 2017, Bike Virginia, Buena Vista to Staunton, VA.

Sat. June 24, 2017, Cycle the Solstice, York, PA.  Ride 10, 20, 30, 62 or 100 mi through York and Lancaster counties. New this year – in cooperation with "Double Creek Tour" (June 17), both events will offer the same Gran-Fondo-style 100-mi route with timed sections and prizes. Benefits the Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Education.

Sat. June 24, 2017, Delaware-Maryland Flatlands Tour, Chesapeake City, MD. Very scenic 36, 56, 65 or 104 mi rides on flat terrain. (The 77-mi route has been eliminated for 2017.) This is a low-cost ($6) no-frills event; no SAG or supported rest stops. Baltimore Bicycle Club

Wed.-Sun. Oct. 4-8, 2017, Tour de Pines, various start locations in the Pinelands National Reserve, NJ. Five consecutive single-day (loop) bicycle tours of the scenic, low-traffic New Jersey Pinelands, 22-54 miles per day. Ride 1-5 days for one registration fee. This unusual event has a ride leader, but no road markings or SAG - read the F.A.Q. (PDF). Bring or buy your own food. The ride leader will average 11-13 mph, but faster groups will go off the front and follow the cue sheet. Benefits the Pinelands Preservation Alliance.


Oct. 6-8, 2017, Tour de Pink® East Coast, Philadelphia suburb to Long Branch, NJ. Options include a 100-mi ride and a one-day ride. Benefits the Young Survival Coalition (YSC), an organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women diagnosed with breast cancer.


Sat. Oct. 7, 2017, Adamstown Dirty Dozen Hill Climb, Adamstown, PA. Ride 63 mi, with 8,700-ft of climbing, 12 hills, 12 to 20% grade. The organizers say, "This is the hardest event you will ever ride". Pre-registration is mandatory.
