This calendar is presented by Suburban Cyclists Unlimited, and lists recreational bicycle events that take place in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, and start within approximately 150 miles of Horsham, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. As of January 1, 2019, events in Maryland, New York and Connecticut will no longer be listed on this calendar. See Other Bicycle Event Calendars for bicycle events outside of the coverage area of the SCU calendar.

September 2019

Mon. Sept. 2, 2019 (Labor Day), Donut Derby, Valley Preferred Cycling Center (Trexlertown Velodrome), Breinigsville, PA. This is a 36-mi fun race with a donut zone in the middle. For each donut you consume, you get 3 minutes deducted from your actual ride time, to get your D.A.T. (Donut Adjusted Time). Lehigh Wheelmen Association

Sat. Sept. 7, 2019, AJF Ride for Autism, Yardley, PA. Ride 12, 18, 31 or 62 mi over the rolling terrain of Bucks County. Registration includes continental breakfast and a full lunch. Benefits the AJ Foundation For Children With Autism and the Comprehensive Learning Center.

Sat. Sept. 7, 2019, Amish Country Bike Tour, Dover, DE. Ride 16, 25, 50, 62 or 100 mi on flat terrain. Mass start at 8:00am with police traffic control through Dover - riders have the right-of-way with no stopping at traffic lights or stop signs for the first 3 miles, or show-and-go start 7:00-10:30am without police traffic control.

Sat. Sept. 7, 2019, Sourland Spectacular, Skillman, NJ. Ride 5, 26, 38, 52 or 65 mi. All routes include climbing, as Sourland Mountain is beautiful, but not flat. Benefits the Sourland Conservancy.

Sat. Sept. 7, 2019, South Jersey Tour des Farms, Vincentown, NJ. Ride 15, 29 or 54 mi on flat terrain. Stop at designated farm markets and your optional market purchases will be delivered to the starting point. South Jersey Resource Conservation & Development Council.

Sun. Sept. 8, 2019, Cool Cape Cycle Event, Cape May, NJ. Ride 15, 30 or 50 mi. Run Amuck Timing

Sun. Sept. 8, 2019, Cycle 4 Awareness, Barnegat Light, Long Beach Island, NJ. Ride 5, 18 or 36 mi on Long Beach Island. Benefits Cycle4Awareness, an organization that supports kids with special needs

Sun. Sept. 8, 2019, Scenic Schuylkill Century, AIM Academy, Miquon, PA. Start on River Road between Manayunk and Conshohocken, with free on-site parking and the Miquon SEPTA station across the street. Scenic town and country 21-101-mi routes in Philadelphia and Montgomery County. Breakfast at the start and food trucks at the finish. Bicycle Club of Philadelphia (BCP)

Sun. Sept. 8, 2019, Thompson Cyclosportif, Doylestown, PA. The Cyclosportif is cancelled for 2019! The Thompson Bucks County Classic races and the Doylestown Arts Festival will still be taking place on Sept. 8th.

Fri.-Sat. Sept. 13-14, 2019, BR2RB Bike-a-Thon, Quarryville, PA to Rehoboth Bay, DE. One-way rides: 50, 80, 100, 125 or 145 mi. Return transportation is provided. $200 minimum fundraising. Benefits Black Rock Retreat.

Sat. Sept. 14, 2019, Foster 100, Cooper River Park, Pennsauken Township, NJ. Ride 100-mi one-way to Rio Grande, NJ. Every cyclist rides in an assigned platoon with a Team Foster leader. 

Sat. Sept. 14, 2019, #CaringForRare Bicycle Event, Lambertville, NJ. Ride 15 mi on the towpath. See Sept. 15 below for road rides. Benefits Avery's Hope.

Sept. 14-15, 2019, Bikeout, Philadelphia to Phoenixville and return. This is a biking/camping/farm-to-table-eating event. Sold out for 2019, but a waitlist is available.

Sun. Sept. 15, 2019, Three Creek Century, Penn Township Fire Department, Newville, PA. Ride 25, 50, 75 or 100 mi on lightly-traveled roads along and over the scenic Conodoguinet, Yellow Breeches and Big Spring creeks. Sat. Sept. 21, 2019, Tour de Farm Warren County, Blairstown, NJ. Ride 20, 40 or 66 mi.

Sept. 21-22, 2019, Bike MS: City to Shore, Cherry Hill to Ocean City, NJ. Multiple start locations; ride 1 or 2 days: 25, 45, 75, 100, 150, or 175 mi total. $300 minimum fundraising. Benefits the National MS Society.

Sun. Sept. 22, 2019, Century for the Cure, Camp Riverbend, Warren, NJ. Ride 25, 40, 62 or 100 mi. $125 registration includes rider jersey, cycling socks and water bottle; $500 minimum fundraising. Benefits the Cancer Institute of NJ.

Sun. Sept. 22, 2019, Hillier Than Thou Century, YMCA Camp Bernie, Port Murray, NJ. Ride 62 mi with 6,000-ft of climbing or 100 mi with 13,000-ft of climbing. 18.7% maximum grade!

Sun. Sept. 22, 2019, Tom's Ride for Vickie's Angel Walk, Hellam, PA (east of York, PA). Ride 15, 30 or 60 mi on hilly terrain. Or ride the 50-mi gravel loop. Pasta lunch after the ride. Benefits Vickie's Angel Walk, providing financial assistance to families fighting cancer.

Sun. Sept. 22, 2019, Tour de Summer Camps, Morristown, NJ. Ride 18, 36 or 62 mi. $180 minimum fundraising; benefits the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ.

Sun. Sept. 22, 2019, Twin Lights Ride, Highlands, NJ. Ride 15, 30, 55, 75 or 100 mi. Benefits Bike New York.

Sat. Sept. 28, 2019, Amish Bike Ride, Gordonville, PA. Ride 8, 30 or 54 mi through rolling Amish farmland in Lancaster County. Benefits the Intercourse [PA] Fire Company.

Sat. Sept. 28, 2019, Bike the Brandywine, Chadds Ford, PA. Ride 25, 45, 62 or 80 mi, rolling-hilly, through the beautiful Brandywine Creek Greenway and surrounding countryside. Benefits the Brandywine Conservancy.

Sat. Sept. 28, 2019, Fall VeloFest, Valley Preferred Cycling Center (Trexlertown Velodrome), Breinigsville, PA. Outdoor swap meet. 8:30am to 2:00pm.

Sat. Sept. 28, 2019, Major Taylor Mid-Atlantic Ride, Plainsboro Center, NJ. Ride 50, 75 or 100 mi.

Sat. Sept. 28, 2019, New Jersey CF Cycle for Life, Hazlet, NJ. Ride 30 or 60 mi. Benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Sat. Sept. 28, 2019, Ride Along the River, Bull's Island Recreation Area, Stockton, NJ. Ride 18 or 25 mi on the mostly-flat, fine-cinder towpath along the Delaware River. Benefits the non-profit Delaware Riverkeeper Network.

Sat. Sept. 28, 2019, Ride for the River, Pottstown, PA. Ride 16 or 35 mi, primarily on the Schuylkill River Trail. Held in conjunction with the Sly Fox Brewing Company's CAN JAM Music Festival. Benefits the Schuylkill River Greenway Association (SRGA), a 501(c)3 non-profit.

Sat. Sept. 28, 2019, Ride for Trails, Gettysburg Recreational Park, Gettysburg, PA. Ride 12, 25 or 37 mi through the Gettysburg National Military Park, over the picturesque Sachs Covered Bridge and on country roads to the south of Gettysburg. Benefits Healthy Adams Bicycle/Pedestrian, Inc. (HABPI), a non-profit group working to develop walking and bicycling trails in Adams County.

Sat. Sept. 28, 2019, Shoo-Fly Classic Bike Ride, Oley, PA. Ride 20, 40 or 60 mi, rolling-hilly, through the scenic, low-traffic Oley Valley. Berks County Bicycle Club

Sun. Sept. 29, 2019, Bicycling Fall Classic, Valley Preferred Cycling Center (Trexlertown Velodrome), Breinigsville, PA. Ride 10, 25, 50 or 90 mi, ending with a Roubaix-style lap around the velodrome.

October 2019

The Bike MS: Mason-Dixon Challenge, starting from Gettysburg, PA has been discontinued. Find other Bike MS events near you.

Wed.-Sun. Oct. 2-6, 2019, Tour de Pines, various start locations in the Pinelands National Reserve, NJ. Five consecutive, but not contiguous, single-day (loop) bicycle tours of the scenic, low-traffic New Jersey Pinelands. Ride 1-5 days for one low registration fee. This unusual event has ride leaders, but no road markings - read the F.A.Q. (PDF). Bring or buy your own food. The ride leaders will average 11-13 mph, but faster groups will go off the front and follow the cue sheet. Benefits the Pinelands Preservation Alliance. 2019 date from Facebook.

Oct. 4-6, 2019, YSC Tour de Pink East, Princeton NJ. Riders enjoy three days of fully-supported cycling around the Princeton area. Options include a 100-mi ride and a one-day ride. Benefits the Young Survival Coalition (YSC), an organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Sat. Oct 5, 2019, Adamstown Dirty Dozen Hill Climb, Reinholds, PA. Ride 68 mi with 9,900 ft of climbing. Hill gradients of 13-to-20% with 16 timed hills. Free craft beer tasting and pizza after the event.

Sat. Oct. 5, 2019, Main Line Animal Rescue Gran Fondo, Chester Springs, PA. Ride 9, 25, 31 or 62 mi on the beautiful rolling hills of Chester County, with up to 4 timed hill climbs, followed by a post-ride beer garden party. Fundraising is optional. Benefits Main Line Animal Rescue and Pennsylvania SPCA.

Sat. Oct. 5, 2019, Ride Strong Roubaix, Frenchtown, NJ.  Ride 20- or 40-mi on paved roads or 60 mi with gravel sectors. The Ride Strong Roubaix is part of the Hunterdon Fall Fest. Benefits the Cancer Support Community and American College of Rheumatology.

Sat. Oct. 5, 2019, River Towns Ride & Festival, Delaware City, DE and New Castle, DE. Ride one or more mostly-flat 10-mi (one-way) segments between Delaware City and New Castle, starting at 11:00am. Optional 12-mi ride on the new Markell Trail, which connects the Wilmington Riverfront to Historic New Castle and Historic Delaware City. Held in conjunction with the Rivertowns Fall Festival in Delaware City and New Castle, noon-5:00pm.

Sat. Oct. 5, 2019, Tour de Blairstown, Blairstown, NJ. Ride 22, 40 or 62 mi on rolling-hilly terrain (1,200-4,300 ft of climbing) through scenic Warren County. Benefits the Foodshed Alliance. [Updated 9/8/19.]

Sat. Oct. 5, 2019, Urban Farm Bike Ride, Philadelphia Brewing Co., Philadelphia, PA. Ride 17 or 21 mi through Philadelphia, stopping to explore urban agricultural sites, and chat with some of the farmers who help maintain the city’s vibrant farm landscape. Benefits Food Moxie.

Sun. Oct. 6, 2019, Bike4Beds Harvest Ride, Valley Preferred Cycling Center (Trexlertown Velodrome), Breinigsville, PA. Ride 30 mi relatively flat or 62 mi with a climb up Hawk Mountain. Fundraising is optional. Benefits orphanages in Haiti and rebuilt schools and hospitals in Africa and Haiti. Rain date Oct. 20, 2019.

Sun. Oct. 6, 2019, Giro del Vino II, White Horse Winery, Hammonton, NJ. Ride 15, 30 or 45 mi on flat terrain. Registration includes a post-ride celebration at White Horse Winery where riders will be treated to a glass of wine and a souvenir glass. Participants will also have the option of purchasing lunch from local food truck. Sun. Oct. 6, 2019, Pedal4Cam Ride ‘n’ Stride, Eagleview Town Center, Exton, PA. Ride 20- or 45-mi on rolling/hilly back-country roads in scenic Chester County, or ride 8, 12, or 16 mi on Marsh Creek State Park single-track. Also offers a 2-mi walk. Benefits pediatric research grants from the Cure4Cam Childhood Cancer Foundation. Held in conjunction with the Eagleview Town Center Falling Leaf Festival.

Sat. Oct. 12, 2019, Bikes & Beers Yards, Yards Brewery, Philadelphia, PA. Ride 15, 30 or 45 mi. Registration includes 2 Yards beers after the ride and a souvenir pint glass. [Updated 4/9/19.]

Sat. Oct. 12, 2019, New Holland Bicycle Race, New Holland, PA. Ride/race 30, 50+ or 82 mi through scenic Lancaster County with 2000-6000 ft climbing.

Oct. 12-13, 2019, Bike MS: Bike to the Bay, Dover to Rehoboth Beach, DE. Multiple start locations; ride 1 or 2 days: 20, 50, 75, 100, 150 or 175 mi total. $300 minimum fundraising. Benefits the National MS Society.

Sun. Oct. 13, 2019, Covered Bridges Ride, Tinicum Park, Erwinna, PA. Enjoy the fall foliage of Central and Upper Bucks County with a choice of five routes: the family-friendly 20- and 30-mi flat routes use the towpath along the Delaware river, which is a fine-cinder and hard-packed dirt trail, for part of the ride, or the hilly 33-, 50- and 63-mi routes on paved roads. Travel through up to six historic covered bridges. Central Bucks Bicycle Club (CBBC)

Sun. Oct. 13, 2019, Lake Loop, Hopatcong State Park, Hopatcong, NJ. Ride 20, 40 or 62 mi on rolling-hilly terrain. There will also be a 5K and a 1.5-mi trail run, and a 2.5-mi paddle course. Participate in one, two, or all three activities.

Sun. Oct. 13, 2019, Ride Ataxia Philadelphia, Blue Bell, PA. Ride 4, 8, 25 or 50 mi through scenic, low-traffic sections of Montgomery County. Registration includes post-ride meal prepared by Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's Italian Grill and Bonefish Grill. Benefits the Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA).

Sat. Oct. 19, 2019, Belleplain Fall Century, Belleplain State Forest, Woodbine, NJ. Jersey Shore Cycle Club

Sat. Oct. 19, 2019, Dogfish Head IPA (I Pedal A-lot), Dogfish Head Brewery, Milton, DE. Ride 37, 56 or 75 mi on flat terrain in rural Sussex County, DE. Registration includes food and two Dogfish Head craft beers after the ride.

Oct. 19-20, 2019, Bikeout: New Hope, New Hope, PA. This is a biking/camping/farm-to-table eating event. Attendees will ride on the unpaved D&L Canal Towpath for most of the trip.

Sun. Oct. 20, 2019, Oktoberfest Ride, Collegeville Station, Collegeville, PA. Ride 47 mi with 3,500 ft of climbing or 62 mi with 4,300 ft of climbing. Post-ride Oktoberfest Party. Kermesse Sport

Oct. 25-27, 2019, Fall Foliage Weekend, Hanover / Gettysburg, PA. Ride various distances on your own or group rides with leaders. Includes cue sheets, meals, snacks, parties, and hotel accommodations (with indoor pool/whirlpool). Advance registration is required. Bicycle Club of Philadelphia (BCP)

Sat. Oct. 26, 2019, Ride for Inclusion, Skillman Park, Montgomery, NJ. Ride 15, 30 or 50 mi through Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset Counties. Benefits Special Olympics New Jersey.

November 2019

Nov. 2-3, 2019, Philly Bike Expo, PA Convention Center, Philadelphia, PA.

Sun. Nov. 3, 2019, Rock N Road Gravel Ride, Valley Preferred Cycling Center (Trexlertown Velodrome), Breinigsville, PA. Ride 31 or 62 mi with lots of gravel and unpaved sections. A portion of each registration goes to support the PA chapter of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association.

Tour de Sussex, Delaware Technical Community College, Georgetown, DE. Ride 25, 50 or 62 mi through Sussex County, DE.

Sat. June 20, 2020, Ride to Thrive, Burlington County Fairgrounds, Columbus, NJ. Ride 18, 30, 45 or 63 mi. Fundraising is optional. Benefits the Legacy Foundation for children and youth with developmental disabilities.

Sat. July 25, 2020, Spellbound Century, Spellbound Brewing, Mt. Holly, NJ. Ride 20, 45, 63 or 100 mi. Registration includes pizza, water ice and Spellbound beer after the ride. Sells out every year, so register early!

Bicycle Mileage Logs


Bicycle Mileage Logs are available now from SCU! Follow the link or use the main menu to go to the SCU Document Library, then click on the little yellow folder icon next to "Ride Documents". The new SCU Universal Mileage Log is good for any year. It provides automatic summation of mileage and number of rides, and it computes the average ride distance. In addition to the numeric data, the log displays six charts as shown in the photo (populated with simulated ride data in order to demonstrate the charting).

All distances are listed in miles ("mi"). To convert to metric: 1 mi = 1.6 km; 1 km = 0.62 mi. 31 mi = Half Metric Century (50 km); 62 mi = Metric Century (100 km). All rides are on-road tours unless noted off-road. All events provide water stops, cue sheets, marked route, and SAG support, unless noted, but SCU is not responsible for the services provided at events on this calendar. All rides return to the starting location unless marked "one-way". Two-day events are Saturday-Sunday and three-day events are Friday-Sunday unless marked otherwise. There are no ride leaders for these events, and you ride at your own pace.

Suburban Cyclists Unlimited does not list other clubs' rides that conflict with the major SCU events (May 18, 2019 - Quad County Century). Commercial tours are not listed other than from sponsors of SCU or at the discretion of the editor. Indoor "spinning" events and randonnee events are not listed on this calendar.

Suburban Cyclists Unlimited is a recreational bicycle club, and we do not support or promote racing. Triathlons, duathlons, amateur races, criteriums and time trials are not listed on this web site.
